I was born 3 months early,
the only survivor of triplets
From the start, I think I came into
the world missing two sisters,
but I had Tyler
My big brother
He’s always been wild in the best way
Funny
Kind
Never boring
I’ve always looked up to him
Even as I quietly learned from his mistakes,
I learned how to break rules a little smarter
His love and quiet protection shaped our bond
Into the kind of
best friendship only siblings like us can understand
A Fighter, A Friend, A Second Chance
Tyler’s journey has not been easy
Addiction took pieces of him and of all of us
But recovery gave us something stronger
Truth
Resilience
Redemption
He is approaching 7 years sober
He works in addiction recovery,
helping others find their way forward
And his disease of addiction did not
cause his kidney failure
He inherited polycystic kidney disease, PKD,
from our dad
In sobriety he earned a 4.0 in his
Master’s in Health Administration program
He is deeply loved
By family
By friends
By coworkers
By every animal that meets him
A Need With a Name
Tyler needs a kidney transplant
and he needs it soon
What we can’t wait on is this

healthy, willing, and ready to give life
